As the Wheel of the year turns, we approach the sacred portal of Imbolc. Imbolc, meaning "in the belly", is a Celtic high holy day celebrating the middle point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, where the natural life force of Mother Gaia stirs the seeds of spring, hope, and rebirth. Imbolc symbolizes a time of gestation, when the dream seed we have planted in the dark of winter is not yet ready to be birthed, but is still being dreamt into being. It is a time of conscious action towards our goals, and of great discernment as we shed that which is holding us back from bringing that seed into full bloom. This calling for shedding and discernment becomes even more potent as we step into the Year of the Snake in the Chinese Lunar calendar.
